Food and Drink

On entering the Moorcock, both the hungry and thirsty are welcomed by an impressive bar situated in front of a wood burning fire. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with locals and visitors relaxing together over a local ale or a hearty home cooked meal.

Meals
Since taking over in November 2005, Caz has introduced new menus, strongly focusing on home cooking and the sourcing of ingredients from local suppliers.

There are two menus on offer, the lunch menu concentrating on lighter snacks and traditional bar meals served between 12pm and 3pm and the evening menu, served from 6.30-9pm which continues to include traditional bar fare alongside restaurant dishes.

From 3pm until 6.30pm sandwiches, hot baguettes and homemade soups are available. Alongside the main menu there is also a Specials board which changes weekly through winter and more regularly through the summer months.

For those visiting with children Caz has attempted to steer away from the usual offerings and instead the children's menu provides a more healthy variety of homemade dishes and a fun selection of "kid's sarnies". To help keep children occupied during meals there is a selection of colouring books and crayons, high chairs are available for babies.

Drinks
The bar has four hand-pull pumps, from which Black Sheep, Copper Dragon and guest beers can be sampled. It also stocks over forty malt whiskies, a large selection of spirits and liqueurs and offers an extensive wine list.
